Obituary of Diane J. Baker

Diane J. Baker, age 77, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 19, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY.

She was born on January 2, 1948 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Madonna T. (Haugh) and Morris L. (Virginia) Abbey.  She is also predeceased by two husbands; John Ippolito who died on May 17, 1995, and Wallace Baker who died on December 3, 2015.

Diane loved raising her children and grandchildren, where she dedicated her life to being a caregiver to those held closest to her heart.  A familiar face at Valvo’s Convenient Store and Silver Creek Memories Auction, Diane could instill a smile on anyone’s face.  Diane enjoyed every trip to Red Top, where she rejoiced in her childhood memories of eating a burnt hot dog.  In her later years, you could find Diane in her “perch”, enjoying the views and passersby of Main Street, often where honks from friends would signal their hellos.

She is survived by her daughters, Justina Farley and Terri (Timothy) Iskra, both of Silver Creek, NY.  In addition, she is survived by grandchildren: Nicholas Iskra, Taylor Farley, David Farley Jr., Victoria Iskra, and many more.  Along with her parents, Diane is predeceased by her infant son, John Ippolito Jr., and son-in-law, David Farley Sr.

As per her wishes a private celebration will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
