Ronald L. Gloss

October 5, 1939 – May 5, 2025

Ronald L. Gloss, 85, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Jamestown, NY on October 5, 1939 the son of the late Earl and Gladys (nee Lebarron) Gloss.

Ron is survived by five loving children, Shawn (late Donald) Horton of Stockton, NY, Sheila (late William) Horch Fredonia, NY, Ronald A. (Kristine) Gloss of TN, Brett (Alicia) Gloss of VA. and  Paul Gloss of Fredonia, NY; an extended daughter, Melissa (Erick) Barnes of Fredonia, NY; five siblings, Dewane “Wane” (Peggy) Gloss of Dunkirk, NY, George (Mary) Gloss of Cassadaga, NY, Robert (Sandra) Gloss of Fredonia, NY, Brian (Roberta ) Gloss of Fredonia, NY and Sandra (late Roger) Colvenback of Cassadaga, NY; eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, June (late Gerald) Johnson.

Ron served in the U.S. Navy and retired from SUNY Fredonia after four decades of service.

Ron enjoyed camping, gardening, nature and animals. He was an Elvis fan, loved his cat “Kansas”, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Saturday, May 17, 2025 1-3 PM where a memorial service will follow at 3 PM. Interment will be private in Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Sheridan VFW, 2556 Rte 20 Silver Creek, NY 14136.
