Joyce L. Boedo

Joyce L. Boedo, 74, of Silver Creek, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning Nov. 13, 2025 at her son Brian’s home whom she had been residing with.

Joyce was a lifelong area resident who was born on December 21, 1950 in Silver Creek, NY the daughter of the late Arnold and Jean (nee Mossman) Hilliker. She married Edward Boedo on April  26, 1980 in Silver Creek and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2020.

 Surviving are her two children, Kathleen (Richard) White and Brian (Cassandra) Boedo both of Silver Creek, NY; eight cherished grandchildren, Lauryn (John) Quinn, Alexa and Andrew White, Madison and Yanna Mott, Auggie, Charley and Michaela Boedo; four siblings, Leonard (Laura) Vetter, James (Kathy) Vetter, Arnold (Yvonne) Hilliker and Scott Dalrymple; also survived by many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Boedo,  two sisters, Debra Sweda and Barbara Van Rensselaer, her step-mother, Rose Greely , her step-father Don Dalrymple and a brother, DK Dalrymple

Joyce was a graduate of Silver Creek High School “ Class of 1969”, she continued her education at Continental School of Beauty in Buffalo, NY where she learned to be a hairstylist. She worked locally as a hairdresser for many years, helping out at Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel for more than 45 years. She also served as a teacher’s aide at Silver Creek Central School retiring in 2012.

Joyce’s memberships included the First Baptist Church of Silver Creek, where she enjoyed going to Bible Study, the Sunset Drifters, Gowanda Moose and the Southern Tier Auto Buff Club. She was very active with the Silver Creek Grape Festival running the Beauty Pageant for many years. She also loved to go to lunch monthly with her “ Classy Ladies Group”. Joyce will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 4-7 PM where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11AM. Interment will follow in the Evergreen lawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory to the Michael Boedo Scholarship Fund, 11872 Bennett State Rd. Silver Creek, NY 14136.
