Stephen J. Schunk, 65, of Silver Creek, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY.

Steve was born on Dec. 1, 1960 in Dunkirk, NY the son of the late Kenneth and Gladys (Ainsle) Schunk. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Christina) Schunk of S. Dayton, NY and Kevin (Brittany Dunshie) Schunk of Buffalo, NY; six grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Kayden, Connor, Chad, Dominick and Nickolas Schunk; eight siblings, Deborah Francis of Heartline, Washington, Suzanne (Don) Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Barney) Kuzara of  Dunkirk, NY, Pam (Ken Kohlman) Coleman of Elk Rapids, MI, Richard (Maureen) Schunk of Norfolk, MA, Nancy Steffan of Kettering, OH, Elyse (Greg) Kuenle of Franklin, OH and John( Wendy Jackson) Schunk of Pasadena, MD; a nephew, Michael Davis whom Steve helped to raise; he is also survived by many nieces & nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, and a great-great niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Davis and his former wife, Margaret Davis-Schunk

Steve graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1978. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy and worked for Valvo trucking in Irving, NY as a driver.

He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan, had a great sense of humor, loving to tell jokes, but most of all he cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially the grandchildren. He loved his country and was very faithful to his church.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave Silver Creek, NY on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 10- 1 PM, where a memorial service will follow at 1 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions in Steve's memory to the Silver Creek First Baptist Church.
