Obituary of Robert E. VanDette

Obituary Robert E. VanDette Sr., 82, of Angola, NY passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1935 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Tedesco) VanDette. Robert was a retired employee of Cooper Industries in Cheektowaga, NY with over 37 years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping were his passions. He would go every year to Woodside Campground in Cassadaga, NY for 6 months .There he could be found riding around in his golf cart with his K9 companion Duke visiting with all the other campers. Surviving is his wife of 34 years Beverly M. (Ellis) VanDette, whom he married on June 15, 1983, a son Robert E. (Christina Rizzuto) VanDette Jr. of Hamburg, NY, a brother-in-law , Mark (Barbara) Ellis of Silver Creek, a sister -in-law Debbie (Leonard) McGowan of Silver Creek, 2 grandchildren, Olivia D’Andrea and Madeline Rosengeren, also survived by many friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a son Brian Richardson and a sister Ruth Thomas. Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Friday, April 6,2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10AM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or Buffalo Hospice.
