Obituary of Josephine A. Ortolano

Obituary Josephine Leone “Jay” Ortolano, 89, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Saturday morning at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY. She was born on January 6, 1929 in Angola, NY, the daughter of the late James and Lena (Gerace) Leone. On November 6, 1949, she married Samuel G. Ortolano at the Most Precious Blood R.C. Church in Angola, NY, and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1979, after sharing 29 years of marriage. Surviving are three sons, George (Toni) and , James (Patricia) Ortolano both of Silver Creek, NY, Samuel ( Mary Ann) Ortolano of Pasadena, Ca., and a daughter, Julie (Jonathan) Betts of Silver Creek, NY, six grandchildren, J’Neene (Jason) Sexton, Patrick (Emily),Sonia(Stanley Gizowski), Christopher(Michelle) Ortolano, Brandon (Nikki) ,Vincent (Jennifer) Betts, eight great grandchildren, three sisters, Elaine Ross of N. Collins, NY, Virginia (John) Sack of Silver Creek ,NY , Dorothy Schunk of Angola, NY and a brother Vincent (Joanne) Leone of Brant, NY. In addition to her parents, and husband, Jay was preceded in death by a sister, Marietta Valentine, and an infant brother, James Lee Leone. Jay was a 1947 graduate of Lake Shore High School. A family oriented individual, who cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY, Saturday, February 10,2018 at 10 am ( Please assemble at the church). Interment will be at Mt Carmel Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
