Obituary
James R. Eiden, 67, of Dunkirk, NY died peacefully at his residence on Saturday afternoon January 27, 2018
Jim was born on September 24, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI. He was the son of the late Murlyn and Ruth Eiden. In 1968, he graduated from Silver Creek Central School. From there, Jim joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. As a proud Vietnam Vet, he continued to be a military man after his discharge from the Navy. His pride in his country was visible to all who knew him. He was an active member of the Silver Creek AMVETS, the Samuel Cimino VFW Post # 6472, Sheridan VFW Post # 6390 and the former Sheridan Marine Club. He loved and valued the friendships he made with fellow veterans.
Jim’s love of traveling contributed to his passion for truck driving. He also was an avid outdoorsman. He loved shooting skeet, hunting, and fishing. He looked forward to his summer visits with his grandson and daughter. He also valued time with his pets and is preceded in death by his K-9 companion “Halle”
His favorite sports teams were the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. In his free time, he enjoyed reading novels related to the military and watched a multitude of war movies
Jim is survived by his devoted daughter, Joelle ( Jonathan) Everett of Fuquay Varina, NC; a grandson, Parker Everett, a sister, Susan Bankston of Oregon City, OR, a niece, Jennifer Kelley.
As per Jim’s wishes, there will be no calling hours observed. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family.
