Obituary of Florence Reszel

Florence Reszel, 84, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, NY. Florence was born on October 30, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Casimer and Josephine (Kaniecki) Leonarczyk. On April 24, 1954, she married Richard F. Reszel in Sloan, NY, and he preceded in death on August 28, 1994, after sharing 40 years of marriage. Surviving are six daughters, Kathy (Frank) Nowicki of Sloan, NY, Carol (Paul) Lysek of Wayland, NY, Sandra (Greg) Krajewski of Jacksonville, Fla., Cynthia ( Michael) Evancho of Silver Creek, Barbara (Shawn)Donnelly of Angola, NY, two sons, Richard (Karen) Reszel of Cape Coral, Fla. and Lawrence Reszel of Angola, NY, adored by an abundant number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and three brothers, Casimer Leonarczyk of Biloxi, MS, Robert (Christine)Leonarczyk of Cheektowaga, NY and Joseph Leonarczyk of Olcott, NY. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Pomietlasz. Florence worked for Buffalo China in Buffalo, NY, where she held a variety of jobs retiring as a decorator with over 20 years of service. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek. Florence enjoyed playing cards, especially rummy, reading and going to the casino to try her luck. She will be remembered for her banana bread and homemade pierogies;everybody loved her baking and cooking. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting at the beach, soaking up the sun with a cocktail in hand. At the end of the day she also could be found relaxing with her family around a campfire.
