Obituary of Anthony J. Sack

Anthony J. Sack, 84, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday evening ,April 13,2017 at the Elderwood at Hamburg Nursing Home in Hamburg, NY. Tony was born on October 28, 1932 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Dominick and Grace ( Borrello) Sack. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Silver Creek High School, Class of 1950.He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Tony married the love of his life on October 29, 1955 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Westfield, NY and together they raised four sons. Tony worked for the South Buffalo Railway in Lackawanna, NY as a supervisor, retiring with over 40years of employment. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek. He participated in the Mt. Carmel Social Club where he helped to organize their trips .Tony was a 3rd degree Knight and past treasurer in the Knights of Columbus. When his boys were growing up he was a Scout Master for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, Pack 52.He also coached the Excelco Little League baseball team. Tony was Papa to everybody and he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports, hunting, woodworking, gardening and painting.
