Obituary Angeline N. “Ange” Flitt Jan. 27,1924 – Dec. 6, 2020 Angeline N. “Ange” Flitt, 96, of Silver Creek, NY passed away on Sunday evening December 6, 2020 at the Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY with her loving family at her side. Ange was born on January 27, 1924 in Sheridan, NY the daughter of the late Vito and Nicoletta (Manzella) Flitt. Surviving are a loving sister Shirley Flitt of Silver Creek; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; also a feline companion, “TuTu” She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tony, Frank, and Carmen Flitt; four sisters, Minnie Borrello, Mary Torregrossa, Josephine Arnold and Louise Villafranca. Ange was a lifelong area resident who grew up on the family grape farm. She was the fifth child of nine children who lived in Sheridan, NY for 95 years, everybody pitched in and worked on the farm. The “Matriarch” of her family, she took her great niece, Lindsay under her care after Lindsay’s mother passed on at a very young age. She helped to raise her as one of her own. “Family” was everything to her she loved to cook for friends and family and Ange’s specialty was homemade spaghetti, every Sunday and “Jambot” (hot peppers, plum tomatoes, garlic & onions) this was her secret recipe everybody enjoyed! Ange had a heart of gold, a friend described her as a beautiful woman with a kind soul who served as an angel on this earth and they were blessed to have known her. She will be dearly missed by family and friend’s heaven is a better place now that it has gained a true “Angel”. Ange loved the Yankees she never missed a game and was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres Fan. No prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Our Lady of Mt Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek at 10:00 AM. Please assemble at the church. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions in Ange’s memory may be made to St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home, 2546 Lake Ave, Silver Creek, NY 14136.
