We would like to send our deepest sympathy to the Saletta family. Rich was a very special person. As a person that helped give birth to the Blue Devil hockey program, I enjoyed his company and his friendship, his great smile will be missed.

Dear Saletta Family please accept my condolences and prayers for the loss of your
loved one. Richard was close to us on the West Coast. His cousins Madeline and Pearl were especially important to him to keep in touch. His godmother Madeline, my

Anita, Michael and Jen We were so sad to hear Rich had passed. Rich was always a good friend to us and Amy and Michael. He also was a good role model for them, and he was there especially when they needed him. We had such great times on Babcock, ballgames, hockey and just sitting around enjoying each others friendship. Our families shared many great times together that we will hold dear. Our hearts and our prayers are with you all. Wish we were home now to be near you, Patty, John, Amy and Michael

Dearest Anita, Michael, Jennifer, and extended Saletta Family: Kris, Kyra, and I are deeply saddened to hear of Rich's passing. I looked up to my eastern cousin--with his generosity and his strong character--and greatly enjoyed his company and conversation. He would usually be the one to reach out, keeping family ties as strong as geographical distance, time, and busy lives would allow. We all appreciated his good humor and genuine interest in our lives. He adored my mother, Madeline, and treated us all so warmly. Please know that you are in our hearts and prayers, and we'll continue to embrace our many good memories of Rich. Wishing you the closeness of loved ones and peace. Much love!

Anita ... You and I and Rich, and my Aunt Karen (Brown) Ellis go back a long way. Rich was such a wonderful guy and I know he will be deeply missed by you and all his loved ones. My wife, former Assistant District Attorney Randi Cohen Brown, loved working with Rich as both an investigator and justice. He was always so kind, so professional and just so simply decent. And, his sense of humor was ever-present. I wish you comfort in knowing how well loved he was and that he now will patiently await you to join him in everlasting peace. Godspeed, Rich, and bless you, Anita.

Please accept our sincere condolences from the Fredonia State Hockey family, coaches, alumni and players. Rich was a founder of the hockey program here at the college and it was great to have him back on campus this past October for our alumni event honoring those founders. I know that Rich took great pride in seeing all his former players after more than 25 years, to see the men that they had grown into and the success that they were having in their lives gave him great satisfaction. Coach Saletta will truly be missed.

I had the pleasure of playing for coach Saletta at Fredonia and I can say that I will take away a lot more from our coach/player relationship than I gave. He instilled the timeless life-lessons into our hockey lives and pushed us all to be better people. Accountability, respect, integrity, diligent work ethic and 2nd chances are values that he demanded of his players and these are the words that come to mind when I think of Coach Rich. To Mrs. Saletta, Michael and the entire Saletta family thank you for sharing your husband and father with us. You will be in my prayers, God bless.

Mike and Family my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have great memories playing for Rich at Fredonia State, both as a club team and as a SUNYAC team. None of which would have been possible without his commitment and dedication. He was a true gentleman and I was so fortunate to have him as a coach/mentor during college. There is no doubt that heaven got a little brighter, I will always remember his laugh and how much he enjoyed every day he made playing hockey rewarding and fun!
