Melanie Laurel Mohawk, 27, of Irving, NY died unexpectedly on Friday October 28, 2016 at her home. She was born on March 27,1989 in Gowanda, NY, the daughter of Wayne and Kim ( Elliott) Mohawk. Melanie was a 2007 graduate of Silver Creek Central School, where she was a cheerleader for the school, while also cheering for the Junior Buffalo Jills. She attended the Buffalo School of Performing Arts, expressing herself through dance, ballet and hip-hop. She volunteered as a Cheerleading Coach for the Seneca Sachems. Known for her feisty personality she wrestled as a youth for Gowanda Youth Wrestling. Melanie enjoyed arts & crafts, she created necklaces, bracelets, ear rings , to name a few of the things she made. She was the business manager for Beads, Beads, Beads in Irving , NY. She sold the fruits of her labor as a vendor at Pow Wow’s and other places .Melanie was a member of the Turtle Clan of the Seneca Nation of Indians. Besides her parents, she is survived by her loving son Rayne Tundo , a brother , Nicholas Mohawk both of Irving , two sisters, Amanda Mohawk of Irving, Holy Connors of Derby, NY , nieces Haylee , Monica and Quinn Mohawk , her paternal grandmother Marjorie Mohawk. She was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Mohawk, and her maternal grandparents, Donald and Sharon Train.
