Obituary of George Faye Hall

George Fay Hall Sr. of Silver Creek, NY entered into rest on Saturday August 13th, 2016 at his residence. George was born February 28th, 1927 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Larney & Ada (Hurd) Hall of Silver Creek, NY. George served in the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class and was honorably discharged May 17th, 1946. He then moved on in his career as a truck driver , traveling every state in the United States, except Hawaii. The last trip , in an 18 wheeler that he owned was with his son Timothy Hall Sr. to California & Washington State. They both went from the East Coast to the West Coast and states in between. It was surely a good time had by both of them. He was a member and the official greeter of the First Baptist Church of Silver Creek, and he so enjoyed fellowship there as well. He also was a member of the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472 of Silver Creek .He loved to socialize, and he enjoyed fishing , watching westerns, detective shows, and planting beautiful vegetable gardens to share. He also loved to cook and barbecue for his family and friends alike. He is survived by his wife of 68 years , Joyce Elizabeth ( Butcher) Hall, 2 sons, Thomas A. Hall Sr. and David R.( Becky)Hall , a daughter Janice F. (Dean) Blake,19 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren ,and 1 Great Great Grandchildren, also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. George was predeceased by 3 children, George F. Hall Jr., Timothy V. C. Hall Sr. and Vondalyn J. Rogers , 3 Grandchildren, Charles “ Chucky” Ferguson, Jr., Trina Washington, and Thomas A. Hall, Jr.,2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 20,2016 at the First Baptist Church of Silver Creek,32 Main St. Silver Creek at 11am with the Rev. Robert Sheldon officiating. Additional visitation will be from 10am until the time of services. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
