Obituary of Russell S. Perry

Russell S. Perry,50, of Silver Creek, NY , died unexpectedly on Monday, July 11,2016 in Sheridan ,NY. He was born on July 3,1966 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of John and the late Mary Jane ( Gervaise) Perry. A lifelong area resident , he worked as a mechanic for Dunkirk Specialty Steel ,he helped on the Richard Fienen farm and was a mechanic with his brother Grant at Perry’s Garage . His memberships included the former Lakeshore Marine Club , the Silver Creek Firemens Club and VFW ,WWII Veteran’s Club in Dunkirk ,and the Fredonia American Legion. He had many interests, restoring and collecting classic cars, riding motorcycles and dancing to name a few of them. He was an avid fisherman , who loved the water. He always looked forward to his annual trip to Florida with his brother Grant, Karen and close friends .Recently he assisted in the care of his mom and dad in their later years. Russell is survived by his father , John Perry of Dunkirk, two brothers, Grant (Karen Zierk)Perry , Charles (Judi) Perry both of Dunkirk, three sisters, Susan Lisa, Sharon Hogg, and Sonia Jo (Floyd Salzman)Pearl all of Silver Creek, nephews, Nicholas Hogg, Christopher (Melanie)Perry, Ryan, Kevin ,Kyle, and Brandon Perry, John and Justin Perry, nieces, Velvet Lisa, Mary Jo and Jenny Ann Pearl. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry “Butch” Perry III.
