Norman J. “ Dutch” Schichtel ,74 , of E. Middle Rd. , Silver Creek , NY died Thur. evening , February 18 , 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital , Buffalo , NY. He was born on March 15,1941 in Lackawanna , NY the son of the late Norman and Christina ( McMrath) Schichtel. Dutch was employed as a millwright for Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna , NY with over 18 yrs of service.Later he worked as a rigger in Texas until his injury which left him disabled. Survivors include a daughter, Colleen ( Steven) Sikorski of Silver Creek, NY , three grandsons , James (Lisa) Schichtel , Brian and Adam Sikorski , four great grandchildren , Alyxandrea, Aryella , Rylyn , and Brysen Schichtel , a sister , Carol ( Ronnie) Scritchfield of Fort Myers , Fla.. and his companion Leo. Besides his parents , he was preceded in death by a son James Schichtel , and a brother , Frederick Schichtel. There will no public visitation , a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family ,the date and time to be announced.
