Obituary of Nelson K. Haas

SHERIDAN - Nelson K. Haas, age 63, of Sheridan, NY died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Nelson was born on November 6, 1951 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Harold and Ebba (Turnquist) Haas. He attended Kensington High School and graduated from Lancaster High School "Class of 1970." He retired from the New York State DOT in the Search & Surveying Dept. in 2007. Nelson was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors and traveling. He enjoyed his time with the family and friends from work, this time to him was priceless. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen M. Haas, a daughter, Carrie Haas of Fredonia, NY; two sons Keith Haas of Amherst, NY; and Jermiah (Nicky) Haas of Westfield, NY, and a grandson, Elliot Sly Haas. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Haas. Relatives and friends are invited to a attend a Memorial service on July 18, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the Victory Baptist Church, 10659 South Roberts Road, Fredonia, NY.
