Obituary of John M. Wilder
John M. Wilder, 59, of Silver Creek, NY, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home.
He was born on November 1, 1955 in Silver Creek, NY the son of the late N. Ray Wilder and Carolyn (Militello) Wilder Dougherty.
John graduated from Silver Creek Central School "Class of 1973," he also attended SUNY in Morrisville, NY where he studied culinary arts and food service. He worked for GM Powertrain of Tonawanda, NY and the James Desiderio Inc., of Buffalo, NY for over 30 years, also formerly worked for American Axle. John was an avid race car fan, especially enjoyed NASCAR, an active ATV rider, also a collector of model trains and cars.
Surviving are his mother, Carolyn W. Dougherty of Silver Creek, NY, a daughter, Dayna (Jayson) Snyder of San Diego, Ca., a son, Michael (Kelly) Wilder of Hamburg, NY, two grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Wilder, two brothers, David (Caryl) Wilder of Silver Creek, NY and James "Jay" (Laura) Wilder of Orchard Park, NY, four step sisters, Sheila Duino of Derby, NY, Jane (Sam) Tramuta, Ann (Kevin) Glapa and Deborah (Angelo) Zappie, and a step brother, Richard (Patricia) Dougherty Jr., all of Dunkirk, NY. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prayers will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel RC Church. The family will be present at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.
