Obituary of Kathleen Jayne Poland

Kathleen Jayne Blair Po-land, 91, of Medway passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family. She was married for 52 years to the late Robert James Poland who passed away in 1994. Mrs. Poland worked as a ward secretary at Lakeshore Regional Medical Center in Irving, NY until her retirement in 1986. Born on her grandfather's farm in Han-over, NY on February 27, 1923, the daughter of Clarence E. and Emma (Faulkner) Blair, she graduated from Dunkirk High School and spent most of her life in Western New York and Massachusetts. She was an avid reader, crossword and word search solver and pinochle player, but those were a close second to her love of cooking. A passionate lover of her family, she spent her life nurturing and caring for them by preparing her delicious meals and by giving her cuddly hugs. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jayne is survived by three daughters, a son, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren: Dianne Gullotta and her husband, Joseph of Falmouth, MA and Estero, FL.; Barbara Berry and her husband, David of No. Yarmouth, ME; Robin Gelbwachs and her husband, Archie of Milford, MA; son, Robert Poland and his husband, William Elliott of Boston, MA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She is survived by a sister, Clarice Alt of Buffalo, NY; a brother, Wallace (Katy) Blair of Rancho Mu-rieta, CA; and a sister-in-law Frances Poland of Fredonia. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY. A funeral service and a celebration of her life will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, 19 W.
