In college, Sally studied to be an art teacher and hoped to continue as a dance instructor; she later accomplished both. She choreographed the perfor-mance show "Kappa Kapers" and was a member of the Buffalo State cheer-leading squad and later the Buffalo Bills cheer squad.
It was in college that she met her husband, Richard "Dick" Crino, at Kleinhans Music Hall, where Dick performed as a trombonist in the orchestra and Sally on stage as a dancer. Their love blossomed into mar-riage, and Sally moved to Silver Creek, NY, where she worked as an art teach-er, dance instructor at the Eddie Smith School of Dance, and raised three children. During this time, she also earned her Master's Degree in arts education from the State University College at Buf-falo.
In 1973, Sally achieved her dream of owning and operating the Sally Jane Crino Dance and Gymnas-tics Arts Center. For 25 years, Sally not only taught thousands of children how to dance, but she was also a role model and mentor to many. Every year, Sally pro-duced an original dance production showcasing her students' talents in an origi-nal story line accentuated by imaginative scenery, music, and choreography. Sally also coached several state and local pageant con-testants and directed the Silver Creek Junior Miss Pageant.
Sally and her students also gave back to the com-munity with performances at nursing and retirement homes. Each year, Sally promoted her students higher education needs by awarding scholarships to deserving students entering college.
Upon retirement in 1998, Sally had more time for her passion of art and soon be-came an accomplished watercolor artist, showcas-ing several paintings in lo-cal galleries and art shows. She displayed many works of art at the Centennial Arts Center and received the Grace Rosati Memorial Award and numerous Honorable Mentions.
Sally had tremendous love and devotion to her family and grandchildren and enjoyed many special friendships in her lifetime. She touched the lives of many children in her per-forming arts school and will certainly be missed in the community.
Survivors include her sons John (Laura) Crino of Crofton, MD, Paul (Bethany) Crino of Silver Creek, NY, Scott (Kristen) Crino of Severna Park, MD.; grandchildren An-drea, Jack, Lauren, Domin-ic, Vincent, Nico and Angelo Crino and sisters Marilyn Rinaldo of Buffalo, NY and Donna Concardi-Doyle of New York City.
