Alice Thurston, 86, of Silver Creek, NY, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was born in Fall River, Ma., on September 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Alexander and Stacia (Czcpiel) Sawchyn. Mrs. Thurston was married to Richard G. Thurs-ton, who predeceased her on June 15,2009. Article Photos Alice Thurston Joan was a former member of the Silver Creek, Order of the Eastern Star, the Fireman's Club and the V.F.W. She was an avid NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed sitting in her yard relaxing. Survivors include two sons, Donny (Cindy) Thurston of Silver Creek, NY, Ronald (Sherri) Thurs-ton of Pittsburgh, Pa.; six grandchildren, Aaron, Alex, and Lance Thurston, Keri and Brad Gable, and Kaytlyn Killock; six great grandchildren, and a broth-er, Alex Sawchyn of Redding, Ct. Besides her parents, and her husband of 55 years Richard Thurston, she was predeceased by a brother, John Sawchyn. There will be no public visitation, a Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, date and time to be announced. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
