Obituary of Linda A. Murphy

ANGOLA - Linda A. Murphy, 60, of Angola, NY passed away Sunday after-noon (Oct. 5, 2014) at Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by her loving family, after a brief battle with cancer. Linda was born in Miami, Florida on Aug. 14, 1954 to Jack and Tommie Lou (Thaxton) Murphy. Survivors include her beloved companion John Leatherbarrow of Angola, NY; her father, Jack (Carolyn Parton) Murphy Sr. of Stockbridge, Ga.; two sons, Brian (Tabitha) Pfister and Keith Pfister, both of Angola, NY; two grandchildren, Royston and Wyatt Pfister, whom she loved dearly; a brother, Jack Murphy Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga.; her former husband, George "Skip" Pfister of Angola; her dear nieces, Jackie and Jenny Murphy; John's daughters, Lynn (Jefferson) Thomas of Brant, NY and Kristy (Larry) Lewandowski of Eden, NY; their eight grandchildren, Weston, Weslee, Dominik, Nolan and Aiden Thomas, Hallie, Brice and Trent Lewandowski. Article Photos She was preceded in death by her mother, Tommie Lou Murphy; and her cat "Buddy." Linda was a social member of the Silver Creek VFW and the Firehouse on the Lake. She loved her plants and was always willing to help at the VFW during special events and to take care of the plants. She especially enjoyed sunsets, lighthouses and taking pictures of them; collecting Blue Glass; motorcycles and taking trips with John. She will be missed by all!
