IRVING, NY - Barry E. Snyder Jr., 52, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning (March 20, 2014) at the Lake Shore Hospital in Irving, NY.
He was born Sept. 16, 1961 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Barry E. Sr. and Deanna (Jimerson) Snyder of Irving.
Barry was a 1979 graduate of Silver Creek Central School, where he played quarterback and defensive end on the football team. He attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. He formerly owned and operated JR's Smokeshop in Irving for a number of years.
Barry was known for his generous and caring personality. He loved motorcycles, collecting automobiles and watching movies. He enjoyed visiting his home in Scottsdale, AZ. Family was very important to him, especially his children and grandchildren. Barry was a member of the Beaver Clan of the Seneca Nation of Indians.
Besides his parents, he is survived by seven sons, Barry E. (Joleen) Snyder III and Jacob Snyder, both of Salamanca, Seth, Dakota, Steve and Shadow Snyder, all of Irving, NY and Gage Snyder of Buffalo, NY; a daughter, Fallon (Patrick) Snyder of Salamanca; and two brothers, Scott (Marie) Snyder of Irving and Ryan Snyder of Orchard Park, NY.
Also survived by 16 grandchildren, Taty, Shania, Casius, Kingston, Sienna, Taliah, Ira, Tayoni, Myla, Tayia, Noah, Portia, Sekera, Mekhi, Phoenix and Mason Snyder; one aunt, Maxine (Arthur) Jimerson of Salamanca; three uncles, Arthur (Donna) John of Silver Creek, Dale (Roxy) Snyder of Holley, NY, and David (Sue) Jimerson Jr. of Irving; two nieces, Alyssa and Scotia Snyder; one nephew, Michael Snyder; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Jimerson Sr.
Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Route 438 Ext., Irving, NY at 10:00 a.m. Everybody please meet at the church. Rev. Roland Cooper will officiate. Burial will be made in the Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek, NY.
