Obituary of Lucy V. Braun

Lucy V. Braun, age 93, of Charlotte, NC, and former resident of Silver Creek, NY, died Friday, January 3, 2014, at Levine-Dickson Hospice House in Hunters-ville, NC. Born on May 21, 1920, in Silver Creek, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie (Fadale) Militello. Mrs. Braun was an avid golfer and traveler. She was a past president of BPW and a member of Knights of Columbus and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries and the Ladies of Charity. Mrs. Braun was former co-owner of Barone's Liquor Store in Silver Creek. (Bonnie) Barone Jr. , and Jenny (Jeffrey) Jolly); two sisters Carolyn Daugherty and Louise Crolle; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas J. Barone, in 1981. Her second husband, Wallace G. Braun, passed away in 2002. Mrs. Braun was also preceded in death by brothers Albert, Joseph, and Thomas; and sisters Helen, Patrina Newton, Theresa Tokash, Veronica Fricano, and Jean Randazzo. Visitation will be at Hole-Parker Funeral Home in Silver Creek on Thursday, January 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 following prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Militello Family Foundation, 12073 Forestville Road, Silver Creek, NY 14136 in lieu of flowers.
