Obituary of Michael R. Shanahan

Obituary Michael R. Shanahan,65, of Silver Creek, NY died on Sunday evening April 19,2020 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 5,1954 in Buffalo, NY the son of Charles and Patricia (Lee) Shanahan. Michael was a graduate of South Park High School, Class of 1972 and the Bryant & Stratton Business Institute earning an associate degree in Business Management Administration and Occupational Studies. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves helping to preserve our liberty and defending freedom. His memberships included the Silver Creek DAV and the American Legion. Michael worked for the New York State Thruway as a toll collector. He was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed listening to music, his favorite band was Pink Floyd and he loved to shoot pool. Survivors include his mother Patricia Lee of Fla.; two step sons, Aaron (Jessica) Shanahan of Hamburg, NY and Justin Shanahan of Silver Creek; three step children, Anthony ( Michele) Pacifici of North Carolina, Tammy Smith of Sheridan, NY, and Renee (Brian) Bradle of Silver Creek; three grandchildren, Liam, Rosalyn and Kadence Shanahan; his canine companion, Finnegan. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn (Ruth) Shanahan. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
