Obituary of Geraldine P. Notaro

Obituary Geraldine P. “Geri” Notaro, 75 of Dunkirk, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening April 17,2020 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY. She was born on August 30,1944 in Fredonia, NY the daughter of the late John and Mary (Barone) Notaro. Geri grew up on the family farm on Chestnut Street and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1962. She attended beauty school in Buffalo, NY and opened her own hair salon in her parents’ basement at 20 years old. She moved the salon to the White Inn in Fredonia where it became Shear Design. Geri owned and operated Shear Design Salon at the White Inn and then on East Main Street where she employed several people while raising her family. She loved her job and her clients so she worked until she could no longer physically handle it. Geri retired after more than 45 years as a hair stylist and small business owner. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Geri is survived by her two children George (Kelly) Borrello of Sunset Bay and Lisa Borrello of Sheridan; a brother Charles Notaro of Fredonia; a granddaughter, Kianni “Kiki” Medina; a great granddaughter, Kitana Gonzales; her aunt, Annie Notaro of Fredonia; also survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be private a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Fredonia.
