Obituary of Roy Pagels

Obituary Roy Pagels April 30,1937- February 24,2020 Roy Pagels,82, of Erie, Pa, formerly of Irving, NY, passed away Monday morning February 24,2020 at the LECOM At Village Square Nursing Home in Erie, Pa. He was born in Cheektowaga, NY, the son of the late William and Dora (Halftown) Pagels. He married Dorothy Brown on December 8,1969 in Brant, NY. She preceded in him death on January 23,2006. Surviving are two children; a son, Joseph Fecher and his wife, Louise of Erie, Pa., a daughter, Dorothy Webb, and her husband, Martin of Mesquite, TX. a nephew, Ronald Hart, and his wife, Melba of Irving, NY. In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Pagels. Roy was a 1955 graduate of Irving High School and also School #10 in Dunkirk, NY where he studied Auto Mechanics. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna, NY for over 20 years in the sheet metal department. He also served in the U.S. Army from Jan 27,1960- Nov. 9,1962. Roy was a proud member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, Heron Clan and the Good Shepherd Church in Irving, NY. He was an avid hunter, who enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting antique guns. He also was very active in helping the SPCA donating his time and money to help animals in need. Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Thursday, February 27,2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
