Obituary
Martha Bilger, 93, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Wednesday’s morning August 7,2019 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
She was born in Schlier, Germany the daughter of the late Josef and Kreszentia (Stemmer) Heine.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Gabel of Silver Creek and Bonnie (David) Shantler of North Tonawanda, NY; a son, Joseph Bilger of Buffalo, NY; five grandchildren, David(Robin) Gabel, Thomas(Andrea) Gabel, Eva(Lane) Maron, Teresa (Michael) Siejak and Michele Bilger; nine great grandchildren, Deon Szopinski, Jordan and Jenna Gabel, Haley and Amber Lamb, Matthew and Michael Siejak, Junior and Graden Hidy; two great great grandchildren, Trenton and Malcolm Hartwig; a brother, William (Norma) Heine of Getzville, NY.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Raymond A. Bilger and a brother, Joseph Heine.
Martha was a 1944 graduate of Kensington High School in Buffalo, NY and worked as a teacher’s aid at the Pine Hill Elementary School for the Cheektowaga School District. She was a former member of St. Gerald’s R.C. Church in Buffalo, NY. She was a very active member in the parish and sang in the choir.
Lake Erie was huge part of Martha’s life, she spent every summer at Foits Beach (Hideaway Bay) with her family at their cottage. After a few years they relocated to Snow’s Marina for short period, eventually they bought a home and settled in Sunset Bay.
In her younger years she was an avid bowler at St Gerald’s and enjoyed embroidering table clothes. She also was a past resident at St. Columban’s on the Lake, a place she loved.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Home 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Sunday, August 11,2019 from 1 to 4 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Interment will be made at St. Anthony’s, Farnham, NY.
