Obituary of Joseph P. Greco

Obituary Joseph P. Greco Sr., 85, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Thursday morning January 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He was born on March 20, 1933 in Silver Creek, NY the son of the late Gasper and Josephine (Zoda) Greco. On November 8, 1958 he married the love of his life the late Nora (Christopher) Greco and together they shared 59 years of marriage. Joe is survived by his loving daughter, Diane (Paul) Pagano of Silver Creek, NY; three cherished grandchildren, Mandi Strek-Greco, Christopher and Marisa Pagano. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph P. Greco Jr., three brothers, Santo, Larry, and Sam Greco, four sisters, Carmella Boscarino, Stella Gambino, Lucille Fustino, and Josephine LoBello. Joe was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Silver Creek High School in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Joe owned and operated the family grape farm in Sheridan, NY. The homestead is still there today. In his early 50’s he decided to go back to school at Bryant & Stratton College, earning an Associate Degree in accounting. He got a job at Silver Creek Central School in the business office, retiring in 2002. Joe’s life was Nora they enjoyed dancing, going on Sr. citizen bus trips, family gatherings and trying their luck at the local casinos. Family was everything to him and he will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt Carmel RC Church 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Fiebelkorn officiating, there also will be a blessing service at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
