Obituary Donna J. Northrup December 20, 1960-October 30, 2018 Donna J. Northrup, 57, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dunkirk ,NY and the daughter of Donald and Vernie (Romance) Gworek of Fredonia, NY. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three daughters: Christy ( Patrick Thauer) Lawson of Dunkirk, NY, Carlee (Eric Marsh) Northrup of Forestville, NY and Codie Northrup of Tucson, AZ, and son Dustin (Alyssa Wojda) Lawson of Pittsburgh, PA, and sister, Debbie (Jerry) Hollifield of Roebuck, SC. She has three cherished grandchildren, Alanah Thauer, Patrick Thauer and Maci Lawson. Donna is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Mary and Michael Romance. Donna was a 1978 graduate of Fredonia High School, in 1993 she earned an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies through the Business Management Program from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. After working for a few years she returned to school and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the State University of New York Empire State College. Currently, she was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections as a Grievance Supervisor. Donna loved the outdoors. Hiking, camping, kayaking and biking were a few of the activities she enjoyed. Anything associated with nature brought joy to her life. She was “full of life,” always happy and never wasted the time she had on Earth. She was an amazing cook, line danced, attended numerous concerts and shows. She was a selfless person who was very involved with The Ride For Roswell-To End Cancer for many years. Carmel, 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Father Daniel Fiebelkorn celebrant and committal will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
