Obituary of Carolyn E. Hangen

Carolyn E. Hangen, 86, of Irving, NY passed away peacefully on Friday morning, December 23, 2022 at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born on August 5, 1936 in Lancaster, NY the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Rugg) Sturm.  She married the love of her life LeRoy C. Hangen  on June 7, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1996.

Carolyn is survived by seven beloved children, Michael (Rose) Hangen of Jacksonville, FL., Thomas (Masako) Hangen of Okinawa, Japan, Shirley (late Lotha) Goldsmith, Karen Hangen, and Darlene (Tyron) Hangen-Hall  all of Buffalo, NY, Yvonne (DeAndrew) Hangen –Gilbert of Dunkirk, NY and Debra Hangen of N. Tonawanda, NY; twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, George, James and Allen Sturm and two sisters, Shirley and Dorothy.

Carolyn and LeRoy’s  greatest  gift in life was their seven children. Their world revolved around family and she thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker. In addition to that she loved the Buffalo Bills.

As per her wishes services will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
