Obituary of Jo Ann Heckathorn

Jo Ann Heckathorn, 85, of Silver Creek, NY passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022. Beloved mother of Deborah Gardner, cherished grandmother to Jude “Nicole” (Peter Kalfas) Gardner, Jillian Jo (Jon) Messere, and Jamie (late William) Kinney; loving great-grandmother of Jude Jr., Dakota, Richard, Dalton, Emily, Ryan, and Bella; two great-great-grandmother to Dakota, Jr. and Adaiya.  She was predeceased by her parents George and Geraldine (nee Frye) Tizard, her beloved husband Fertig Heckathorn, and a dear sister Martha (late Melvin) Miller.  Family was her life and her world revolved around them.  She never missed a sporting event or school activity that her family participated in. She also loved football, especially the Buffalo Bills and the Alabama Crimson Tide in college football.  Jo Ann faithfully volunteered for all the events held at the Dunkirk Elks Lodge.
