Brian R. Maroney

November 13, 1958- February 25, 2023

Brian R. Maroney, 64, of Silver Creek, NY formerly of Durham, CT passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, February 25, 2023 at his home.

He was born on November 13, 1958 in Durham, CT the son of the late John and Jane (Vroom) Maroney. On September 18, 1999 he married the former Sandra Maslowski in Angola, NY.

In addition to his wife Sandra Maroney, Brian is survived by a brother-in-law, Richard Maslowski;  his Scottie, Melba and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Sean and Brian Maroney and three siblings, Kevin and Colin Maroney and Gale Stevens.

Brian had a long career with the railroad, over 30 years. He retired as a locomotive engineer from CSX Transportation in 2017.

Brian loved nature, animals and camping. He especially loved Duke his black lab and all of his Scotties. He was an avid football fan of the Buffalo Bills and Notre Dame.

As per Brian’s wishes there will be no public visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family date and time to be announced.

Memorial contributions in Brian’s memory may be made to the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater NY Rescue or the Cornell University Animal Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
