Obituary of Paul L. Burt

Paul L. Burt, 66, of Dunkirk, NY formerly of Silver Creek, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, June 7, 2023 at his home.

Paul was born on November 14, 1956 in Silver Creek, NY the son of the late John and Margaret (Barone) Burt.

Paul graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1974, he worked for a few years then he joined the U. S. Army serving his country from 1976-1982. He was employed as a correctional officer at Lakeview Shock Incarceration Center in Brocton, NY retiring in 2015.

Paul’s favorite activities included golfing, taking trips in his convertible and biking for fun and to raise money for local charities, especially Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY. He once rode his bike with his friend Bill from Dunkirk to the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and on to Canton, Ohio to the NFL Hall of Fame. His love of sports carried over to his hometown teams as well, especially the Buffalo Bills, Sabres and the Cleveland Indians. Paul also was very active in various service and social clubs in Dunkirk and Silver Creek.

He is survived by two brothers, John (Sharon) and Dale (Geri) Burt both of Silver Creek, NY; three nephews, Jeffrey  and John Burt and Thomas (Kristina) Workoff ; two great- nieces Everly and Savannah Workoff; his former wife Nancy (Borowczyk) Burt.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel , 160 Central Ave, Silver Creek, NY on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY at 10AM.Please assemble at the church. Interment will be made in Mt Carmel Cemetery.
