Sam and I send our deepest condolences to the entire family. She was truly one of a kind and told the best jokes. I'll never forget traveling with her to Anaheim CA for a conference when I was pregnant with Joelle - probably Fall of 1993. We got discounted tickets to Disneyland and I was craving a NY "street corner hot dog" and we must have walked the entire park looking for one. Every vendor cart was a juice cart, or smoothies, or some very west coast cuisine. We finally found a place that sold hot dogs. We anxiously unwrapped our dog - Roberta took one bite - looked me straight in the eye and said in a very NY- Queens accent - "Friend - we are NOT in NY City anymore." It was the worst hot dog either of us had ever had! Too many memories to share. Fly high Roberta. I hope there are good dogs in heaven.

I have too many warm and funny memories to count. This woman was a mentor to me and although she was only part of my work family, she was a brilliant and loving woman who had one of the largest impacts on my life. From appreciating my mind, to radical acceptance and support even in my most difficult career moments, to sharing a (sometimes not so popular) sense of humor. Many hours together. I loved and respected Roberta beyond words. This loss is hitting very hard. My thoughts and prayers are with her family left behind. Fly high my dear friend and mentor. I love you beyond words... Roberta was my Sunday School Teacher for several years while our families attended a small Christian church in Frewsburg, New York named Siloam Fellowship. Roberta had a profound impact in my spiritual growth as her teaching was spiritually deep. While at Levant Christian School, she served as the Head Librarian. I remember our families spending hours together at the annual Prendergast Library Book Sale screening book after book to help build the library of a small Christian school. She drove countless miles to basketball games and volleyball games. She, along side other moms, served as an opposing team for volleyball practices. Our families spent hours together at church functions, at state parks, and summer holidays. Lots of good memories. Blessings to Jessica and Matt. You are prayed for as you mourn your Mom. I am sorry for your loss and pain.
