August 26, 1939 – January 21, 2024

Marcia Lou Erdle, 84, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday morning January 21, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital.

 Marcia was born on August 26, 1939 in Dekalb, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harry and Marie (née Latham) Gates.

Marcia is survived by four loving children and their spouses, Stephen (Elaine) Martin of Silver Creek, NY, Sara K. (Rick Borgman) Martin of Bangor, ME, Wayne (J-Anne) Martin Jr. of Forestville, NY and Sean (Bria) Martin of Mill Valley, CA; nine cherished grandchildren, Kara Martin, Jordan Borgman, Haley (Carl) Murray, Jessica, Sydney and Finneas, Deirdre, Aidan and Everly Martin; one great-grandson, Cayne Murray.

In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by two husbands, Wayne Martin Sr. and Warren Erdle, and two brothers, Donald Gates and Wally Zook. She graduated from Elburn High School in 1957. Marcia worked for National Metalwares in the clerical department in Aurora, IL, Lake Shore Family Medicine as a medical transcriptionist for many years, and retired from Lakeshore Hospital. In her free time she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, served as a Girl Scout leader, both in Aurora, IL, and was very involved with T.O.P.S. in Silver Creek. She enjoyed bowling, reading mystery novels, and working on word and jigsaw puzzles. Marcia also loved animals and was a huge fan of Elvis, “ King Of Rock and Roll”.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4-7 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11 AM. Internment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.

 

The family kindly suggests memorial contributions in Marcia’s memory be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society (431 E. Chestnut Street, Dunkirk NY 14048).
