When I think of Camp N Water I think of Erva. Of course Carol too, but Erva was my card partner in my most memorable year. He had a twinkle with his smile, ,mischievous and sweet. If you were lucky enough to partner with Erva you were likely to win. He will live in my memories forever. Thank you Erva! You were so special and I will miss you. My condolences to the Garnsey Family. While I didn’t know Erva very long, I was privileged to share time and many of his family memories. From Stories of times raising his daughters in Silver Creek and Summers at Bear Lake to his work experiences as a grave digger, Bethlehem Steel and Purina (Dunkirk). He had a deep love for his family, Blood and Purina. A mostly gentle sense of humor with a little more sting when he felt able. Many a “Dad” joke and a very quick Witt, he enjoyed making people smile and laugh. Having had a fun summer and putting on a bit of weight , first significant snowfall I was saying goodbye to head home, don my coveralls and snowblower the driveway… Erva: IF THEY STILL FIT…as I began to step away from the kitchen table, where I enjoyed meals, a beer or two and many stories with Erva. I will miss you, Old man! Safe travels and I will catch up to Carol and Yourself, when it’s my turn to make the journey.
