Irene J. Bernardi

Irene J. Bernardi, 92, of Silver Creek, NY passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on July 28, 1931 in N. Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Walter and Teresa Charry. On Sept. 6, 1986, she was married to the love of her life, Daniel J. Bernardi, until his passing on Nov. 30, 2019.

Irene was a lifelong area resident who graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and worked in the deli and bakery at Quality Markets in Silver Creek.

In her younger years, Irene enjoyed dancing and bowling. She also liked bingo, playing cards, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her memberships included Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church and the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472 ladies auxiliary in Silver Creek.

Irene is survived by her three loving children; Theresa (Late Daniel) Brown of Forestville, NY, Paul Schank of Bayonet Point, FL, and Paula (Steve Pingree) Lonski of Angola, NY; seven dear grandchildren; Jennifer (Ryan) Astry, Tammy (Kevin) Rice, Aimee (Brent) Lachut, Jordan (Gabriella) Schank, Ryan Schank, Nicole Schank, and Bryan (Kate) Lonski, along with 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her grandson Chad J. Brown, brothers Raymond and Eugene Charry and a sister Alice Wichelns.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 10^, 2024 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 165 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
