Obituary of Michael W. Tampio

Michael W. Tampio, 67, of Silver Creek, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 16, 2022 at his home.

He was born on June 23, 1955  in Silver Creek, NY the son of the late Vincent and Carmella (Nappo) Tampio. On May 5, 1979 he married the former Katherine Koerts in Greene, NY.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Kathy Tampio; three loving children, Diana (Jarrod) Mills of Fredonia, NY, Anna (Tim) Wittenbrink of Eden, NY and Vincent (Sarah) Tampio of Philadelphia, PA; three cherished grandchildren, Conner Wittenbrink, Elise and Lillian Mills; three dear siblings, Susan (George) Borrello, Joseph (Coral) Tampio and Ann (Stephen) Corcoran; also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael was a 1973 graduate of Silver Creek Central School. He continued his education at SUNY Albany, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in History. He furthered his studies at Canisius College receiving a MBA degree in 1995.

He worked as an auditor for Mobile Corporation in PA and VA., for a number of years. Most of his professional career he was employed by Canisius College, where he was a research and data analyst retiring in 2017.

Michael served on the Silver Creek Central School Board from 1996-2000, he was the chairman of ZBA (Zoning Board of Appeal) in Silver Creek for many years and was a previous committee member of the Silver Creek Festival of Grapes for a couple of years.

In his free time he enjoyed reading, traveling with his family and friends, listening to Jazz music and was a history buff. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
